ADOR Files "Injunction Against Activities" Against NewJeans… Legal Conflict Escalates

It has been revealed that ADOR has filed an injunction against NewJeans (NJZ) to ban their activities, escalating the legal conflict between the two parties.

Parents of NewJeans Members Notify of Exclusive Contract Termination

On the 6th, the parents of the NewJeans members claimed via social media that ADOR had failed to fulfill its obligations under the exclusive contract and notified them of the termination of the contract, effective from November 29, 2024. This clearly indicates that ADOR no longer has the authority to manage or interfere with the members' activities.

They argue that ADOR is only concerned with advertising activities, but the injunction request includes an attempt to limit all of NewJeans' entertainment activities. They strongly oppose ADOR's expansion of the injunction request on February 11, 2025, asking for a ban on not only advertisements but also all music-related activities such as songwriting, composing, performing, and singing. They view this as a retaliatory measure.

ADOR Responds with Official Statement

ADOR immediately issued an official rebuttal, emphasizing that "expanding the injunction request is not about limiting activities but about working together while respecting the contract." ADOR asserted that they are "not attempting to limit activities, but simply wish to continue entertainment activities while honoring the contract."

Furthermore, they clarified, "We have never pressured event organizers" and explained that "the expansion of the injunction request was not a retaliatory measure, but a move to uphold the contract."

The hearing for this injunction request will take place on the morning of the 7th at the Seoul Central District Court, and it is expected that the legal conflict between ADOR and NewJeans will continue to intensify.
