Incheon Airport Customs has recently decided not to renew its ambassador contract with New Jeans and has started the process of finding a new ambassador.

New Jeans has been embroiled in a dispute with their agency ADOR over their exclusive contract, and as a result, the court has imposed a ban on their independent activities. They have announced that they will temporarily suspend all activities for the time being. In response, Incheon Airport Customs is considering aespa and IVE as strong candidates for the next ambassador and is carefully reviewing their options.
aespa, a 4-member girl group under SM Entertainment, has gained huge popularity with hits like "Supernova" and "Whiplash," while IVE has been led by Jang Wonyoung and is highly popular both domestically and internationally. These two groups are currently engaged in strong competition both domestically and internationally.

Incheon Airport Customs has previously selected globally recognized girl groups as ambassadors, having appointed Girls' Generation in 2010 and BLACKPINK in 2017, generating significant buzz. BLACKPINK, in particular, achieved great success in promoting Incheon Airport Customs’ image internationally with their global influence.
A Customs official mentioned, “We plan to select a new ambassador with both global recognition and a positive public image to enhance our image,” and attention is now focused on which group will be chosen as the next ambassador.
