<Korean News> Can Binggrae “Banana Flavored Milk” Become a National Heritage?

Preparations are underway to register the distinctive jar-shaped container of South Korea's iconic "Banana Flavored Milk" as a National Registered Cultural Heritage item.

The National Registered Cultural Heritage designation applies to modern cultural assets that have been in existence for over 50 years and are deemed important for preservation or utilization. Items are registered under this designation after review by the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Cultural Heritage Administration.

Released in 1974, Banana Flavored Milk is a flagship product of Binggrae and has retained its signature jar-shaped container since its launch. The container, designed to evoke the elegance of a traditional moon jar, was created to convey a sense of luxury at the time. In 2016, Binggrae registered this container design as a trademark.

Banana Flavored Milk also enjoys high popularity among consumers in China and Japan, making it a prominent export product that contributes significantly to the revenue of Binggrae’s China subsidiary.
