A joint investigation was conducted on the 3rd to determine the cause of the Air Busan aircraft fire.

A joint investigative team, consisting of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board, the French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA), the National Forensic Service, the Police Scientific Investigation Unit, and the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, arrived at the scene at 9:30 AM and began their inspection at 10:05 AM to determine the cause of the fire.


The investigation team plans to focus on the aircraft’s rear compartment shelves, which are believed to be the initial point of ignition.


Air Busan Flight BX391 was preparing to depart from Busan to Hong Kong on the afternoon of the 28th of last month when a fire broke out in the rear section of the aircraft while it was taxiing at Gimhae Airport, causing damage to the upper part of the fuselage. All 170 passengers (including one infant) and six crew members evacuated using emergency slides, with seven individuals sustaining minor injuries in the process.
