<Korean News> Today is “Kimchi Day,” and “Kimchi Festivals” were held across the nation.

On November 22, designated as "Kimchi Day," kimchi-making events were held across the nation.

In Seoul and various regions, many people participated in "Kimchi of Love Making and Sharing" events, preparing kimchi with care and delivering it to underprivileged communities.

Additionally, at Samcheonggak in Seoul, an event was held where foreigners could participate, providing an opportunity to experience making kimchi alongside local residents.

"Kimchi Day" was established to widely promote the value and excellence of kimchi. The date, November 22, signifies that when various ingredients come together to create kimchi, it brings about 22 different health benefits.


To promote the kimchi industry, preserve and develop kimchi culture, and educate the public about its nutritional value and importance, a new provision (Article 20-2) was added to the "Kimchi Industry Promotion Act" on February 11, 2020, officially designating November 22 as "Kimchi Day."
