<Korea News>"You want me to eat a hamburger without tomatoes?” What is McDonald's Korea's desperate attempt?

Due to an unprecedented heatwave this year leading to a poor tomato harvest, McDonald's has decided to sell some of its burger products without tomatoes in South Korea.

McDonald's Burger, now there is a “missing tomato case”!

On the 15th, McDonald's Korea informed customers through stores and delivery apps, stating, "The continued heatwave this summer has hindered tomato growth, creating significant supply challenges," and announced, "We are offering free drink coupons to customers if tomatoes cannot be provided."

Don't be surprised if you don't find tomatoes in your burger.

McDonald's Korea typically sources around 2,000 tons of domestic tomatoes annually from regions such as Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do. However, the prolonged heatwave this summer has severely impacted tomato growth, leading to supply difficulties.

Earlier, in June, McDonald's temporarily suspended the sale of French fries due to issues with the frozen potato supply chain.
