A towering 6-meter "Mickey Mouse" has kicked off the "Disney 100th Anniversary Special Exhibition."
Exhibition Hub Asia, the organizer of the event, announced on the 24th that they have installed an art balloon of "The Sorcerer Mickey" at the "Plaza of Encounter" in Seoul's Olympic Park, located in the Songpa District.
The Sorcerer Mickey, a character featured in the 1940 animated film Fantasia, symbolizes the core of Disney's timeless storytelling themes—dreams, adventure, and creativity. The art balloon will be on display until September 29.
The "Disney 100th Anniversary Special Exhibition" will open on October 18 at the K Museum of Contemporary Art, covering an area of 1,000 square meters. The exhibition has previously been showcased in London, Munich, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Kansas City, and this marks its first showing in Asia, taking place in Seoul.
The exhibition will feature a prologue and nine themed galleries, displaying over 250 items, including crafts, artwork, costumes, and props. Notably, costumes and props from the 2023 film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be exhibited in Korea for the first time. Tickets are priced at 45,000 won (about 33.7 usd) for VIP admission, 30,000 won (about 22.4 usd) for general admission, and 26,000 won (about 19.4 usd) for children under 12.
