<Korean Info> “Seoul Light DDP Fall 2024” starts today!

The Seoul Design Foundation has announced that it will host “Seoul Light DDP 2024 Autumn” at DDP from August 29 to September 8, every day from 8 PM to 10 PM.

Since its inception in 2019, “Seoul Light DDP” has gained recognition as a leading media facade festival in Korea, utilizing the 222-meter asymmetric exterior facade. It has particularly garnered acclaim for its artistic and technical excellence, winning international design awards such as the Red Dot Design Award and IDEA.

This year’s “Seoul Light DDP 2024 Autumn” will feature the theme “Future Log,” and will reimagine nine works by Kim Whanki, a pioneer of Korean abstract art, as media art. The event will be structured around three themes: “Poetry of Time,” “One Dot - The Beginning of the Universe,” “Dancing Dots - Life and the World,” and “Heart in the Dot - Pure Love and Longing.”

Last year, the event attracted 1.16 million visitors to DDP, solidifying its status as a landmark event in Seoul. This year, the event aims to elevate itself to a global light festival, with active promotional efforts both domestically and internationally. Union Communications, responsible for promoting “Seoul Light DDP 2024 Autumn,” plans to showcase Seoul’s cultural value to the world through various media channels.
