BLACKPINK’s Rosé has made it onto the Billboard main chart with her song “Apart” setting a new record for female K-pop artists.
According to Billboard, Rosé’s “Apart” debuted at No. 8 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
This achievement surpasses the previous highest-ranking by a Korean female artist, which was BLACKPINK’s own record of No. 13 set in 2020.
Additionally, Rosé is only the fifth Korean artist overall to break into the Hot 100’s Top 10, joining the ranks of PSY, BTS, and solo works by BTS members.
Some fans have even dubbed “Apart” as the “second Gangnam Style,” citing its catchy chorus and infusion of Korean humor.
