Apple unveiled its latest smartphone, the “iPhone 16 series,” featuring artificial intelligence capabilities, on the 9th (local time).
On this day, Apple held a new product launch event called “It’s Glowtime” at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino, California, where they showcased the iPhone 16 series and other new products.
The new iPhone is equipped with Apple’s AI system, “Apple Intelligence.” To achieve this, Apple has incorporated its latest chips, the “A18” and “A18 Pro,” which were independently developed. According to Apple, these chips can perform machine learning up to twice as fast as the previous generation and improve power efficiency by 30%.
The iPhone 16 series consists of four models: the 6.1-inch (15.4 cm) base model, the 6.7-inch (17.0 cm) Plus, the 6.3-inch (15.9 cm) Pro, and the 6.9-inch (17.4 cm) Pro Max.
The base model and Plus size remain the same as last year, but the Pro and Pro Max have larger displays while reducing the bezel size, keeping the overall device size unchanged.
A “Camera Control” button has been introduced on the side of the device.
With just a press of this button, you can launch the camera and adjust zoom and exposure settings.
Additionally, the high-end models feature enhanced camera capabilities, including a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
Prices remain the same as last year in dollar terms, starting at $799 for the base model (128GB), $899 for the Plus (128GB), $999 for the Pro (128GB), and $1199 for the Pro Max (256GB).
The new iPhone will be available for pre-order in over 59 countries, including South Korea, the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and India, starting on the 13th, and will be available in stores from the 20th.
This is the first time South Korea has been included in the first wave of countries to release the new iPhone.
