The city of Busan announced on the 9th that it has implemented emergency transportation measures in response to a strike planned by the Busan Transportation Corporation's labor union, scheduled to begin on the 11th.
During the strike, the city plans to deploy substitute personnel and maintain normal operations on Subway Lines 1 to 3 during peak commuting hours, with intervals of 4 to 5 minutes between trains. Outside of peak hours, service intervals will be extended to between 10 and 22 minutes, operating at about 50% of the normal schedule.
Subway Line 4, which operates without drivers, will continue to run as usual.
Additionally, from the first day of the strike, the city will lift restrictions on private car usage based on license plate numbers. On the 11th, which coincides with the closing day of the Busan International Film Festival, the city will add more late-night buses in the Haeundae area to meet increased demand.
Busan has recently gained popularity as a tourist destination, attracting many visitors. Please keep this information in mind to avoid any inconvenience.
