The Korea Land and Transport Safety Corporation (TS) is actively working to ensure the safety of elderly drivers and promote a culture of considerate driving.

On the 11th, the corporation revealed that the use of the "Elderly Driving" vehicle sticker on elderly drivers' cars has had a positive effect on both improving their safety and spreading the culture of considerate driving.

TS conducted a campaign in Busan to raise awareness among other drivers and pedestrians by placing "Elderly Driving" identification stickers on vehicles driven by seniors aged 65 and above. The initiative aimed to promote mutual consideration among drivers.

As part of this effort, TS’s Busan office distributed 2,000 "Elderly Driving" stickers to elderly groups and visitors to TS automobile inspection stations in Busan in September of last year and analyzed the effectiveness through a survey.

TS conducted a survey on a total of 191 participants, including 95 elderly drivers who had used the sticker and 96 general citizens, to examine the effects of the sticker on accident prevention and safety improvement.

The survey results revealed that more than half (65%) of the elderly drivers who had used the sticker felt that it helped improve their driving safety, and 67% reported experiencing more consideration and yielding from other drivers.
