The cold wave is expected to continue until the morning of January 31, the first working day after the long Lunar New Year holiday.
On February 1, nationwide rain or snow is forecast.

On the 30th, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) announced that cold air would flow in from the northwest, causing temperatures to remain very low until the morning of Friday, January 31. Due to strong winds, the perceived temperature will be even lower. Temperatures nationwide until the 31st are expected to be similar to or slightly lower than the average (minimum temperature: -12°C to 0°C, maximum temperature: 1°C to 8°C), but temperatures are expected to be slightly higher than average on February 1.
From the morning of February 1, rain or snow is expected nationwide (except for northern Gyeonggi Province and northern Gangwon Province).
The KMA predicts that the cold wave continuing during the Lunar New Year holiday will not be the last severe cold of this winter. The medium-term forecast announced on the 30th predicts that strong cold will return around February 4, with the minimum morning temperature in Seoul expected to drop to between -11°C and -10°C from February 4 to 6. Additionally, while temperatures are expected to rise slightly from February 7 to 9, the minimum morning temperature in Seoul will still remain between -8°C and -7°C.
