Jeju Air, which was involved in an accident at Muan Airport, announced on the 8th that it will further reduce the number of flights during the winter season from January 6 to March 29 to enhance operational stability and punctuality.
Notifications have already been issued for 838 domestic flights, 278 international flights departing from Muan, and 188 international flights departing from Busan. On January 8, an additional reduction of 574 international flights was announced.
As of January 8, Jeju Air explained that a total of 1,878 flights (838 domestic and 1,040 international) have been reduced. The airline mentioned that further reductions might be implemented.
The breakdown of the additional reductions announced on January 8 includes 268 flights on Japan routes, covering five routes: Incheon to Narita, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Busan to Narita. The Greater China region sees a reduction of 58 flights on two routes: Incheon to Hong Kong and Jeju to Hong Kong.
For Southeast Asia, 112 flights will be reduced on three routes: Incheon to Da Nang, Bangkok, and Bohol. In Oceania, 136 flights will be cut on two routes: Incheon to Guam and Busan to Saipan.
