Kim Rieul, the designer who gained widespread recognition for modernizing hanbok (traditional Korean attire) and creating hanbok-inspired outfits for BTS, passed away on the 11th at the age of 32.

According to the Namwon Police Station on the 12th, Kim was found deceased at around 9:10 PM the previous day in a flower bed near an apartment complex in Dotong-dong, Namwon City. It was reported that on the day of the incident, he had visited his parents' home in Namwon.
Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected and are currently investigating the exact cause of death.
Since 2016, Kim had been leading the fashion brand Rieul (ㄹ), crafting modern suits using hanbok fabrics.
In 2023, he was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia, solidifying his global reputation as an influential designer.
