Korail Tourism Development has launched a new tour product, the 'Soolrye Train,' which combines traditional liquor experience with train travel.

The 'Soolrye Train' incorporates the meaning of ‘Sool’ (alcohol) and ‘Rye’ (ceremony), offering a unique journey where participants can brew and taste traditional Korean liquor while learning about its history and culture.

This product was designed in response to the high demand for train travel among residents of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. The train departs from Busan Station (with stops in Bujeon, Sin Haeundae, Gijang, Taehwa River, and Gyeongju) and heads to various destinations. Passengers will also have the opportunity to enjoy scenic views from the window as the train travels along the Gyeongbu Line and Jungang Line on the S-Train.
The price for the 'Soolrye Train' package ranges from 97,000 KRW to 164,000 KRW per person, including round-trip train fares, connecting vehicle costs, traditional liquor experience fees, entrance fees to tourist sites, and local meals (for some packages). This is not just a brewery tour, but also a chance to hear fascinating stories related to traditional liquor-making. Regular departures are being considered for the future.
