Korean Air announced on the 10th that it will introduce a "pre-order meal service" for first-class passengers on international flights departing from Korea.
This service allows passengers to select their preferred in-flight meal before boarding. Initially launched for Prestige Class on select international routes in January of last year, the system has now been extended to include international first-class routes as well.
The service is available through Korean Air's official website and mobile app, and passengers can choose their meals from 60 days up until 24 hours before departure.
For first-class meal pre-orders, passengers can select a full course menu, including a main dish, appetizer, and soup. They begin by choosing a main dish from options like Korean, Western, or vegetarian cuisine, and then select corresponding appetizers and soups in sequence.
To offer more variety, Korean Air will also provide 4 to 6 additional exclusive dishes for each meal course, available only through pre-order. Reflecting the growing demand for vegetarian options and the airline's focus on ESG management, vegan dishes have been included in the special menu.
While the pre-order meal service for first-class is currently only available on eight routes departing from Korea—destined for Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Paris, London, and Frankfurt—Korean Air plans to expand the service to flights departing from overseas in the future.
