MUSINSA, a leading Korean fashion e-commerce platform, launched its sale event "Muji-Jang Winter Black Friday" at 7 p.m. on the 24th. Within just six hours of the event's start, cumulative sales surpassed 30 billion won (approximately $25 million).
On the first day of the event, sales in the outerwear and footwear categories, which featured additional discounts, stood out. Notably, this winter’s trending items, such as THIS IS NEVER THAT’s Pertex T Down Jacket and DOPE JASON’s Solid Suede Shearling Jacket, achieved impressive sales figures in a short period.
Global footwear brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, and UGG also saw their sneakers and winter shoes rank high in real-time sales charts.
MUSINSA’s offline stores added to the event's buzz by hosting popular brand collaboration pop-up events. At the MUSINSA Store Hongdae, where a standalone discount pop-up for IN SILENCE was held, more than 7,300 people visited daily on average, making it a huge success.
At the MUSINSA Store Seongsu @ Daerim Warehouse, which featured a North Face pop-up, daily transaction volumes increased by about 50% compared to the previous weekend.
In connection with the Muji-Jang Winter Black Friday, offline pop-up events also drew large crowds of young shoppers, leading to “open-run” phenomena, where people queued before opening to secure deals.
The pop-up store themed Muji-Jang Outlet Pop-up in Seongsu, held in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, offered off-season clothing and accessories at uniform prices ranging from 10,000 to 70,000 won, with discounts of up to 85%. Over three days during the weekend, the event attracted more than 9,000 visitors, selling over 7,000 items, demonstrating its remarkable success.
Following this achievement, a second round of pop-up events is scheduled to take place from the 29th to December 1st.
