On the morning of the 9th at 7 AM, a long line of young customers formed outside the "Kith Seoul" store located in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Those at the front of the line had brought camping chairs and sleeping bags, camping out overnight to secure their spots.
Oh Sang-hoon, who was further back in the line, said, "I came early this morning to buy the sneakers released today, but seeing those who waited overnight, I regret not arriving sooner."
Among those who challenged the "open run" as soon as the store opened were mainly men in their 20s and 30s, all lined up to get their hands on the "Kith X New Balance" collaboration sneakers that Kith launched that day.
Hansome, the fashion company under the Hyundai Department Store Group that operates the Kith Seoul store, announced that more than 1,500 customers visited the store that day.
A store representative stated, "The fashion trend of the MZ generation, which pursues a unique individuality, combined with Kith's limited edition and collaboration product strategy, is driving the popularity of Kith Seoul. We plan to continue sourcing a diverse range of products that cater to Korean customer demands, aiming to grow as a differentiated fashion and cultural space."
