<Korean News> Never imagined! What sold out in no time?

Digital cameras, which had been overshadowed by high-quality smartphone cameras, are regaining popularity, especially among people in their 20s and 30s, who appreciate the unique color tones of digital photography.

According to Fujifilm Korea on the 16th, 69% of registered buyers of official camera products last year were in their 20s and 30s. Up until 2017, buyers in their 40s and 50s accounted for the majority, but with the sharp increase in purchases by younger generations, this group has now fallen to second place.

The surge is particularly notable among buyers in their 20s. Until 2017, this age group made up less than 10% of the total, but by 2022, it had grown to 30%.

This growing interest from younger consumers has even led to the sell-out of cameras priced at 2 million won (approximately 220,000 yen). Fujifilm Korea reported that the X100VI, which was launched in February this year, sold out immediately upon release. The X100VI is the sixth-generation model in the Fujifilm X100 series, released five years after its predecessor.

In response, Fujifilm stated, "Based on the popularity of the X100V, we anticipated double the demand for the X100VI and adjusted production plans accordingly, but a waiting list still formed." The company added, "We are accelerating production to meet this sudden surge in demand."
