Opposition rallies against President Yoon Seok-youl's impeachment are spreading across university campuses in Korea, and overseas students are also joining the movement.

On the 22nd, a rally titled "Global Koreans' Declaration Against Impeachment" was held near Gangnam Station in Seoul's Seocho District, where students and Koreans with overseas experience gathered and chanted slogans like "Return freedom to Korea" and "Make Korea great again."

During the rally, concerns were raised about the left-wing trends emerging in the US, UK, and Europe, as well as warnings about the threat posed by China's involvement. Jeong Min, a representative of Korean students in the UK, said, "We gathered here with the intention to protect Korea," emphasizing that "the spread of left-wing ideologies and communism worldwide will lead to global dictatorship and communization if left unchecked."

Participants waved American flags and the South Korean Taegukgi (national flag) while chanting slogans like "Chinese Communist Party, go away!" and "Communism, perish! Long live liberal democracy!" The overseas students expressed their position that "we can no longer stay silent about the collapse of liberal democracy," and this rally was part of a series of similar events on university campuses.

Since late last year, support for President Yoon's impeachment had spread among university students, including overseas students. However, recently, many young people are switching to supporting President Yoon. This shift is interpreted as a result of 20-30s realizing the unfairness and illegality of impeachment. Further anti-impeachment declarations are expected at Hanyang University, Ewha Womans University, Sogang University, Konkuk University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, so protests and debates on university campuses are likely to continue spreading.
