On the 2nd, the distribution industry reported that LG Household & Health Care's "CNP Bye od-td Spot Calming Gel," launched exclusively for Daiso in September this year, surpassed cumulative sales of 100,000 units as of the end of last month.
The CNP Bye od-td Spot Calming Gel is designed to soothe skin troubles caused by dead skin cells, sebum, and dryness. The Daiso-exclusive product is priced at 5,000 KRW (approximately $4.10 USD).
This product gained attention through consumer word-of-mouth and was selected as a "Daiso Mall SNS Hot Item" within just a month of its launch.
Its popularity skyrocketed after a well-known beauty influencer recommended it for managing skin troubles. The influencer raved on YouTube, saying, "I can’t believe Daiso carries this!" and added, "I wouldn’t recommend it if it didn’t perform the same, but it works exactly like the original product!"
The influencer further commented, "The product I’ve relied on as my cheat item for nodular acne care is now available for just 5,000 KRW. I stocked up with four of them!"
Although the Daiso-exclusive version has a slightly smaller volume of 10ml (5ml less than the original), it is priced 17,000 KRW lower.
Since late October, the product has been consistently sold out both online and offline. At Daiso’s online mall, purchase limits have been set to three items per person, but even additional stock sells out almost immediately.
Additionally, over 14,000 people registered for back-in-stock notifications on Daiso’s online mall at one point. Online communities are abuzz with posts sharing tips and success stories about purchasing the product.
A brand representative commented, "The product’s affordable price and proven effectiveness have attracted significant interest from customers. We plan to continue launching products tailored to cosmetics market trends and the characteristics of different distribution channels."
