On the last day of 2024 and the dawn of 2025, the Year of the Wood Snake (Eulsa), it is expected that people across the country will be able to witness the sunrise.
Thanks to favorable weather conditions, most regions are anticipated to offer clear views of the sunrise.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced popular sunrise viewing spots.
For urban parks, the five selected locations are North Seoul Dream Forest, World Cup Park, Sayuksin Park, Samsung Sunrise Park, and Olympic Park.
For those wishing to see the sunrise from a mountain, recommended spots include Inwangsan, Eungbongsan, Baebongsan, Bonghwasan, Gaewunsan, Ansan, Yongwansan, and the Gwangjin Bridge.
Moreover, those venturing out to see the first sunrise of the year won’t need to worry excessively about the cold.
On New Year’s Day, the nationwide minimum temperature is expected to be -8°C, about 3°C warmer than average, while daytime highs are forecast to reach 10°C.
The mild weather is predicted to continue through Thursday, remaining above seasonal norms.
