<Korea Info>Travel ban on Israel-Lebanon border due to unrest in the Middle East

The South Korean government has raised the travel advisory for certain regions in the Middle East, where concerns about the escalation of conflict have heightened following the assassination of Hamas’ top political leader.

Travel to the Israel-Lebanon border region is now prohibited, and those currently in the area must evacuate immediately. A temporary special travel advisory has been issued for other regions of Iran, advising against travel unless for urgent matters, and recommending that those currently there leave the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 6th that, in response to the recent increase in instability in the Middle Eastern region, the travel alert levels will be adjusted from midnight on the 7th.

In addition to the travel alerts, a “Special Travel Advisory” can be issued for up to 90 days in response to short-term emergency dangers. This advisory advises against travel unless for urgent matters, and urges those currently in the area to take special precautions for their safety.
